Wellness Issues
The Coalition strives to be proactive in health management by providing programs that promote wellness and a healthy lifestyle. On June 20, 2000, Alamance Regional Medical Center's (ARMC) Lifestyle Center presented several strategies for managing cardiovascular disease and diabetes. Between 2002 and 2004, the Coalition and ARMC sponsored two (2) studies: Working With Diabetes (W.W.D.) and Cholesterol Awareness Program (C.A.P.) - each demonstrated significant value in providing clinical services at the employers' worksite. Please find the attached study published in the February 2009 issue of AAOHN Journal. Proper disease management improved the quality of care and continues saving employers significant dollars.
